Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this a church/are there still services on Sunday?
While it was built as such in 1885, and was home to the United Methodist Church for over a hundred years, this historic treasure has hosted only gatherings and celebrations for nearly 30 years. We look forward to hosting your event! - Can I bring in my own officiant?
The person performing your ceremony is up to you. Please ask if you need help finding the right person for you and your sweetheart. - Where will guests park?
We have a private parking lot along with ample street parking for your event. - Is dancing allowed?
Of course, and please do! Your gathering is an expression of you! - Is alcohol allowed?
Beer, wine, champagne and liquor are welcome with the proper permit and insurance. - Are pets allowed?
Belle Chapel is definitely pet friendly, however we only allow the couple to bring their furry family. Many pets have served as flower dogs, ring bearers, and even the role of best man. We welcome your creativity. Service dogs for any guests are welcome at any time. - Is it wheelchair accessible?
While the reception area is, unfortunately the chapel is not. Because Belle Chapel is on the Registry of Historic Places, updates, alterations and additions to the building are not allowed. Please talk with us, as we have come up with some creative ways to navigate the eight steps into the chapel to include loved ones with limited mobility and/or in wheelchairs. - Can we use the garden?
The garden and the chapel grounds are open and available for you to use during your event time. - What about tents?
You are welcome to bring and set up your own tents, and heaters, as weather can be unpredictable. Set up and take down are your responsibility and all take down must occur before our latest check out time of 11pm. - Are your event prices listed online?
Each event is so unique to your needs, please call so we can accommodate an appropriate pricing for your non-wedding event. - May we bring cupcakes to our elopement?
Receptions are considered an event serving any food or beverage. You are welcome to bring food for the appropriate event booking.
